The Makah Indian Reservation is located on the most Northwestern piece of real estate in the lower 48 states. At one time it covered over 700,00 acres but their treaty limited them to 28,000 acres. For $10.00 you can purchase an annual recreation pass to visit the reservation. The pass fees help to maintain the recreational features. To take great sunset pictures the observation point on the Cape Flattery Trail is one of the best locations to go. It is well maintained and structured to keep you out of the mud. It does rain there quite a bit. While capturing these images I also saw seals and one gray whale. If you really look close you might see the ripples it left in the water.
